1. Saw a post on a CheesyCam's blog on making this exact shoulder rig, so I thought I'd give it a shot!
Made out of PVC pipes, and spray painted it matte black.

Recorded on t2i, 18-55mm kit lens.

  2. i found a DIY project on cheesycam.com (vimeo.com/7832793) to make a shoulder rig to help stabilize the t2i when shooting video.

i'm a very shaky guy so anything to help me is great!

i wasn't able to find all the parts emmagination had so i just improvised. it's light but solid enough for the t2i with my sigma 10-20mm lens.

it's been raining out so i haven't taken tones of shots with it, but i did get out last night and shot my son enjoying some ice cream.

later i hope to go to the park with the kids and do a comparison test. one with and one without the shoulder rig.

over all a great project, thank you emmagination for the fantastic ideas.

  3. Here is my DIY camera slider for DSLR use... well it works with a video camera too! I built this over the past week with a little assistance in terms of a nice piece of teak wood to sit it all on. This is central to the slider being strong and doing it's job of supporting the camera and head etc.

The rails and undercarridge tracks are right angled metre lengths of aluminium. I began by mounting the track to the wood and then making a carrdige to ride in it. The carridge is a piece of wood with furniture sliders as runners - these also have felt underneath them to make them run quietly on the aluminium.

This is an ongoing project anyways so we'll have to wait and see what changes I make! There will be some for sure, I currently think I need wheels and remote control but that's gonna be a while yet.
