Transitions Global

  1. Part 1 of the Q&A videos from Transitions. What is sex trafficking? Well, there is a legal definition, but there is also a more concise definition.

Transitions ( transitionsglobal.org ) is doing a series of videos to answer some of the most common questions about sex trafficking and the work we do to restore the lives of survivors. Check back and look for new videos.

  2. Produced/Directed/Filmed/Graphics/Edited by: Elizabeth Fischer 2011

Music by: Alexi Murdoch "Orange Sky" (used by permission)

Thank you to Nettwerk Music Group and Alexi for their generosity.

This video was created from a concept developed by Elizabeth Fischer, in keeping with a booklet designed for Transitions Global in late 2010. The idea was to consolidate the concept of Transitions Global into a short three and a half minute video. Originally, the video was to include an interview with a survivor, but due to time, the interviews will appear elsewhere in Transitions' videos.

The song "Orange Sky" epitomizes everything Transitions stands for - we do what we do, because we would do the same thing for our own daughters, sisters, and friends...'I had a dream, I stood beneath an orange sky, with my sister standing by' - may we all be standing by to act on behalf of the vulnerable.

Special Thanks to: Steve Moorish and SISHA, the Transitions Global staff, and especially Chang Liya for her courage and her voice.

This video was shot in late 2010 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to tell the updated story of Chang Liya. Liya had done an early video in 2008, which was too emotionally heavy for public viewing. Since she first told her story in 2008, Liya has become a fully certified yoga instructor and has been to the United States, where she had the opportunity to speak to audiences about her journey in New York, Florida, Colorado, and Ohio.

This video also captured the core principles that have made the Transitions Global program such a huge success.

During her time with us, she has studied computers extensively and has studied and become certified as yoga and yoga therapy instructor, which she currently teaches, as well as, working at the TLC in Cambodia, helping other girls with orientation and making the most of their program with Transitions Global.

The video was shot by Tim Matsui in late 2008. Additional editing by Kent Truog and music by Alexi Murdock, by permission.
