    "Afrofuturism"
    by AFRIKADAA

Created by a collective of artists, AFRIKADAA is an interactive contemporary art magazine. Because it is time to redefine the relationships between territories, ideas and artistic movements, AFRIKADAA is a magazine that brings another perspective to the contemporary art scene by telling the story and the trajectories of artists' communities beyond the borders of the market.

Propelled by the art market, contemporary African productions are increasingly visible on the international scene. Contemporary African art fairs flourish in London, New York and Paris, at the same time as art centers and foundations stage devices aimed at questioning through poscoloniality, history and the Archive. But how to articulate the subversion of certain pre-established discourses and strategies of production and diffusion? What is the representation of contemporary art from postcolonial countries within the global art market? What collaborations and dialogues are possible? Will we have the courage to ask the real questions, those that break the strategies of the colonial continuum?

The voices that are expressed through AFRIKADAA today fill a gap and a gap between colonial continuum of local discourses and resistance practices, and show that continuing to talk about "us" without "us" shows a global misunderstanding on postcolonial issues.

AFRIKADAA thus stands out as a pocket of resistance to practices of legitimization of power.

"Prefaces to a Book for a Syrian Museum”, Mathilde Ayoub
    by Zamân Books & Curating

Crossing through West Asia and the Mediterranean from Africa to Turkey, up until Iran and India, Zamân Books & Curating primary goal is the circulation of new cosmopolitan knowledge about art and images – driven by the efforts to shape the field of Southern modernities. Such new mappings of art histories develop through monograph and collective exhibitions, the research journal Zamân, textes, images & documents, and different kinds of publication (monographs, artists books, thematic and collective books), as well as reediting – or translanting – to-be-rediscovered and rare material.

Our role is generally to assist artists (and artists estates) with their exhibition and/or publication projects, including coproduction with public and private institutions, art centres, cultural institutes…

Zamân Books & Curating engages actively with different communities of cultural producers, researchers, curators, translators, archivists, writers and other narrators worldwide, sharing the same desire : to revive and celebrate their transcultural artistic heritages.
