DPUK (http://www.dementiasplatform.uk/about/) is a £53M dementia-dedicated ‘big-data’ platform created to accelerate the development of new treatments for dementia. DPUK brings together data from two million intensively phenotyped participants and includes networks in imaging, stem-cells and informatics to provide cutting-edge technologies for identifying mechanisms and pathways underlying dementia. This lecture will demonstrate the contribution of big science in tackling this complex and growing problem.
