  1. As I was driving through Northern Arizona in early May I came across this controlled burn in the Kaibab Forest. I checked it out and after I saw it to be pretty safe I grabbed a couple timelapse shots with my 2 Nikon D810s and my Sony A7S2.

  2. I shot this timelapse footage for "The Big Short" in NY over the summer. The cameras were shooting for a little over 36 hours to give enough footage for the VFX house to work with to create a super long term timelapse shot. The Plate shots in the clip are sped up between 300-600% to show as much of the footage used in the plate.

  3. All the traveling and hunting for shots we timelapse shooters do. Assembling a video is a form of catharsis and a way to purge our selves for new adventures and reimagining places we have visited many times before and will continue to visit in the future. Its a way for us to travel into the past as some locations are always changing and some don't exist anymore.

These timelapse sequences were shot on a couple of Nikon D810 DSLRs using Nikon and Ziess lenses. The place that I was referring to as not existing anymore was the CARMA array that use to be located in the White Mountains. They lost their funding so the radio telescopes lost their home. It was something very sad to hear as it was one of my favorite places to go that was open to the public and the people working there were nice enough to let myself and others shoot timelapse there over the years. Some of the other locations in the video range from LA to NY, the Eastern Sierras, Utah and Arizona.

  4. I was lucky enough to be one of the projectionists to work on the 70mm roadshow for "The Hateful Eight" and this is what I captured during the 59 showings the film over the course of 15 days. The whole thing was quite an experience and it made me appreciate film all over again. Shot with a Nikon D810 using the Kessler TLS system and a Second Shooter.

  5. This is the second timelapse video in the Journey installation. I wanted revisit a lot of locations in Los Angeles I knew pretty well and find new ways to shoot them and get a couple shots that I have been wanting to get for some time now. Its a totally urban video, which is much different from "Journey Part 1". But even in a very urban environment like LA, nature is all around you...just a different type of nature than you would find out in a forest or desert.

    Music: John Murphy
Track: Adagio in D Minor - Single
