1. Our on-going romance with the Philippines got us thinking that we had ticked off (and fallen in love with!) most of the travel hotspots in this Pacific Gem. But when Travelbook.ph and GetGo took us to Camarines and the Biri Island, we realised just how wrong we were! Geographically near yet incredibly distinct, these destinations stunned us with their jaw-dropping natural beauty and their aptly warm tropical people. And well, our 6 days on the go also showed us that we are no way close to completely exploring all that this beautiful country has on its platter.

  2. Wow Tapes: Thailand is one of a kind.
Unlike most of our videos, it was filmed during two different trips. When we first landed in Bangkok, in November 2015, we had no idea the moment we would have posted a video about it would have come.

We just had one cheap camera, one lens, one tripod. What was supposed to be just a trip to break our european routines, turned out being an unforgettable journey begging to get every minute filmed. From the unbelievable temples and villages in the very North, to the amazing southern beachside, through monkey filled alleys in Lopburi.
This country and its people stunned us.

Six months later life took us to Asia once again, and again there was no way to resist Thailand's allure: we ended up flying back there, this time with the purpose of giving this film a different twist: we wanted people over beaches, ordinary life over summer holidays, markets over resorts.

  3. This is not the usual travel video from Wow Tapes. More than the art form, we believe that
video making is also about telling stories. For this project, we tried to capture various shots of individuals
from various sites in the Visayas in Central Philippines.
The project was shot in Calbayog and Catbalogan in Samar Province, Tacloban in Leyte, and
Bantayan Island in Cebu for a period of six days. Three years ago, their lives were changed forever as
Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest tropical cyclones to make landfall in recorded history, took away
their livelihood, their possessions, and for many, their loved ones.
This is the reason why a lot of people may not recognize familiar spots in this video which was
done on purpose. Our team tried to shy away from the usual tourism spots and focused on the daily lives
of the people doing their everyday routines. We created this video with the mission of showing how
people in the Visayas are rebuilding their lives with a subtle invite for the audience to visit and discover it
This video is an attempt to show the resilient spirit of the Filipinos guided by their unwavering
faith providing a different perspective on tourism in the process. After all, tourism is also about the
people who make every place and experience truly unforgettable.

  4. When we were telling people that, somewhere in the east, there's a stunning postcard looking tropical place,
where a deep cowboy culture and exotic asian traditions blend flawlessly, not many of them believed us.
We had the chance to be in Masbate for 6 days during the powerful (southern US inspired) Rodeo Festival.
An immersive trip made of island hopping, horse riding, food exploring, and most of all, amazing people.

  5. 2014. We landed in Jakarta with one camera, one lens, one action cam, one tripod, two smartphones. Yes, smartphones. This was our full gear, when the “Wow Tapes” idea crossed our minds for the first time. We were just backpackers with a camera, which we weren’t using that much at the beginning.

We’ve kept this film in the closet for about 18 months while travelling around, filming other countries. We were watching and watching it from time to time, again and again, comparing it to our newer works, trying to improve it, always postponing the release date.

We’ve just decided the time to publish has come!

Indonesia: a huge pot of religions, cultures, languages, landscapes.
Magnificent temples and mosques, wild jungles, white beaches and superb surf breaks, stunning amazing fauna; we traveled across Java, Sulawesi, Borneo, Bali, Lombok, Flores, Komodo: different regions, same crazy hospitality.

    35 unforgettable days.
