  1. IMT Hurricane, Natalie Haslam-Conroy & Hyper Reel Films present:

    "Writers Block"

Four writers, one night, one problem...

CJ has a deadline to meet but is suffering from writer's block. Three other writers who live in the same apartment block - Stripey, Eve and Cameron - are in the same boat, all deciding to descend upon CJ for help at the same time.

Shot with a Sony Z1 and edited on Final Cut Pro courtesy of IMT Hurricane Studios.

This was a student film made by a team of eager neophytes all of whom were working on a wing and a prayer between March and June 2010. Everyone has to start somewhere and this was our start and what a great learning curve it was. I'm sure I am not the only one who has learnt so much and improved since then and gone on to bigger and better things but as writer and director, I am still proud of it and the accolades it has received.

Cast: Ozer Ercan, Dominic Ryan, Hayley Newton, Martin King, Farah Merani, Victoria Smith, Rajesh Rishudeo, Peter Williams

Crew: Neil Masterson, Jolomi Whyte, Natalie Haslam-Conroy

    Music by Alan Broadbent

    Closing song- DOLL by SCANDAL

Written, edited & directed by Lee Relph

  2. A (very) short film I made for my film club's latest project theme "Let's Look At This Another Way". I think it's pretty self explanatory.

    Shot on a SONY TRV900E

Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4

    Screen Format - 16:9

    Running Time - 2:19

  3. A short film I made to try out my camera and editing suite for the first time despite not really knowing what I was doing which is probably evident to everyone.

It's basically an idea I had that the humble egg is quite versatile and holds more meanings than just something which comes out of a chicken's bottom.

The cast are my nephew, my father and my sister.

Shot on a SONY TRV900E (through a serving hatch which links the dining room and kitchen in my house!!)

Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4

    Screen Format - 4:3

    Running Time - 2:58

  4. Another film made for OVFM (Orpington Video & Film Makers), this time the end product from a series of coaching evenings where the resident club experts imparted their knowledge and expertise with us noobs and we put what we learned to good use then all go off and edit the footage . Well, that was the theory anyway..:P

Now, I must confess we committed the cardinal sin of using three different cameras for the shoot, since it wasn't entirely practical (or possible) to have three cameras of the same make. The result of course was three very different clips of footage with their own colour balance! So what you see here is in fact the adjusted footage to make the images seem as close to one another as possible. Not being a pro, this was as good as I could get it but I hope it doesn't detract from your viewing pleasure. :)
