1:1 Super 8 Cinema Soirée

This was my submission for the 1:1 Super 8 Cinema Soiree Show. All film had to be shot on 50 feet of 8mm (3 minutes and 20s). The catch was that all editing had to be done in-camera and the filmmakers would not see the final product until the actual night of the screening. Luckily for me, the film came out okay. This was my first time using a super 8 camera, or even film. During the screening, the audio was played separately. I used Premiere CS6 to add the music.

Established in 2006, the 1:1 Super 8 Cinema Soirée is an annual South Florida event celebrating the use of super 8 film. Filmmakers and artists take part, loading super 8 cameras with 3m20s of film.

The event is distinct in that none of the films are viewed or projected by the filmmakers before the public screening. Participants are not allowed to preview or edit their films. Editing is in camera. Sound is carefully timed, by chance, or performed live.

This is a collection of the films that have screened.
