Matt and Lauren were married at the beautiful Postcard Inn on a warm Friday evening in May. This was our first time shooting at The Postcard Inn, and man were we impressed! Normally, when we hear of place on the beach called “The Inn,” we are expecting some sort of worn down motel that simply depends on the beach to draw its customers. However, this was definitely not the case with this hotel. Newly remodeled (within the past few years), this hotels offered such a beautiful backdrop for a wedding, and one that we would love to visit for a vacation one day (we love the laid back atmosphere).
While we love shooting most of the weddings we attend, there are a select few that we wish that we were not hired to capture them, but rather invited as a guest. This was one of those weddings. From the moment we arrived, we could tell that this was going to be fun! Everyone was there for one reason: celebrate love, and enjoy one another! The best thing about a group like this is that there is NO STRESS!!! To be honest, there simply is no time for stress anyways. As a word of advice for future brides, if you find yourself getting wrapped up in the pressures that are encompassing your big day, take a minute, step back, and remember why you are getting married in the first place. If it is easier for you, just think of Matt and Lauren. They had no stress, and neither should you.
As a final note, I must send a quick thank you to Lauren for throwing all caution to the wind. About a week before the wedding, we spoke on the phone regarding her big day. She explained that she was thinking about doing a special dance for Matt with her cousin Ally, but was unsure if she wanted to follow through with it (as it was pretty silly). However, after some brief convincing, along with an inspiring video from Chris and Dawn’s wedding last year, she decided the opportunity could not be passed up. Let this be a second lesson for all of you future brides: don’t hold back! If you want to do something, remember that you only get this opportunity once, so don’t let the stage go to waste. There is a good chance, like in the case of Lauren and Matt’s wedding, that it will be the most memorable moment of the day (and one that your photographer/videographer will never forget!). Thanks again Lauren!!!
