From beginning to end, (though it's not really the end as personalizing it will be a work in progress,) this was a project that went from an idea, and a dream, to looking at home improvement store sheds, to online ideas, to diving in.
From the beginning, this was a dream for a very special person that happens to be my very best friend, and through careful shopping, buying materials on Craigslist and some elbow grease, made it happen, without cutting corners in a quality, finished product, as promised, in my spare time.
What isn't seen here, is the engineering in the building plans that was done in case of future code issues or changes. The office, and it's floor, are attached to every other redwood deck board, that are not hard-mounted to the deck structure and are floating between the other deck boards that are firmly secured to the deck frame. This makes the entire building moveable in case it needs to be moved away from the back fence. Unbolt the steel straps on all 4 corners, and the office can be slid 4' away and be re-secured to the deck.
