The reserve lies between the villages of Brynna, Llanharan and Bryncae in Mid Glamorgan and has a strong community input and a loyal band of volunteers.
Some say that the Welsh are just Mediterraneans in the rain
An exemplification of this could be the Italianate village of Portmeirion in North Wales.
It was created as a labour of love by the architect Clough Williams-Ellis.

An intensely personal project, this is a film about Coed-y-Bedw, a nature reserve hidden away in the woodland behind my home in South Wales.
It's a place that I go to unwind, to take time to think and to give thanks for all the little things that are in the end so much greater than me alone.
It's fitting then that I made this film as a labour of love and as a homage to the reserve.
I am deeply indebted to Dr Mary Gillham M.B.E for agreeing to take part, as also to Cliff Woodhead and Robert Jones Parry.
