  5. This video documents palm oil company PT Menteng Jaya Sawit Perdana clearing peat land forest within the logging moratorium zone in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia's REDD+ Pilot Province.

    Shot by EIA and Telapak on 19th May 2011, the very day President Yudhohyono released an indicative map of the moratorium zone under Indonesia's Letter of Intent on REDD+ with Norway.

    Ironically, Norway has $41.5 million of shares in PT Menteng's parent company, Kuala Lumpur Kepong (KLK), and is set to profit from this illegal forest clearance.

    On 15th June 2011, EIA and Telapak released a briefing documenting PT Menteng's violation of the moratorium zone and Norway's Pension Fund connection. The brieifing is entitled "Caught REDD Handed". See EIA website for more information.
