The City of Richmond, has partnered up with, Omega Boys Club Founder, Joe Marshall. Along with Richmond based artist, Richard Muro Salazar. Together they have created, The Alive And Free Richmond Mural. In the heart of the Iron triangle, an area known for violence, drugs and sex trafficking. is now being transformed into a productive place to live. This mural is a step headed in the right direction.
Motivated by the memory of Cesar Chavez and his contributions to the farmworkers' movement, residents of Richmond, California came together to revitalize the intersection of Florida Avenue and 12th Street. People living in Richmond suffer from a lack of access to fresh fruits and vegetables. This event combats the problem, by providing residents with the tools and the opportunity to grow their own.
