    Meeting was called to order by Chairman Elliott for the September 10, 2014 Planning Commission meeting at 6:04 p.m.

    2.2 Introduction of Sandra Lewis, Senior Administrative Assistant

    Rebecca Willis introduced Sandra Lewis the Senior Administrative Assistant to Community Development and City Engineer.

    8.1 A Request to Consider Adoption of Resolution No. 14-10 Approving Minor Site Plan Review for Comfort Inn to Expand the Parking Lot to Include 4 Additional On-Site Truck/RV Parking, 6 Standard Parking Stalls and Associated Parking Lot
    Improvements. The Property is Located in the CC, Central Commercial Zoning
    District.

    Environmental Status: Categorically Exempt according to California Quality Act Article 19 §15332 Class 32, In-Fill Development.

    Mr. Caguiat presented a PowerPoint Presentation with an overview of the project.

    9. OPEN PUBLIC HEARING –

    Resident Doris Cotton addressed the Council and City Staff with the following concerns. Safety, Theft, and Trespassers. She stated she has a Daycare business and safety is extremely important to her and her family. In addition, Mrs. Cotton has concerns with easement right-away because of the Joint property. She requested the City & Business Owner to change the Fence height, instead of “8”inches add 2inches making “10”inches, additional lighting and Sound Wall.

    Rebecca Willis & Rick Caguiat explained the “Location Map”

    Council member Perez explained the safety features to resident Cotton, for example the additional lighting and camera’s that are going to be placed. Also, when projects are being presented to Council Safety is one of their priorities for the City of Lathrop and Residence.

    12.1. Economic Development Update

    Ms. Willis provided a brief PowerPoint presentation about the current residential, commercial and industrial developments around the City

    13. PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS

    Commissioner Perez asked Senior Planner Rick Caguiat about the City population sign and where is the data collected from? Mr. Caguiat stated from the US. Censes and the current population is approximate 16,000.

    Glenn addressed Mr. Perez stating the actual “Population Sign” is updated usually every five (5) years.

    Commissioner Freeman requested staff to provide City limits map. Per Mrs. Willis she will email the map to all Council members.
