    Phantom camera:

    Canon 550D T2i:
    $760

I used a Canon 550D T2i to create a Phantom camera look, but with a much lower budget. All I used was my 550D, my lens and Twixtor.
Of course the Phantom camera makes better results, but compared with the prices, I think Twixtor is totally worth a try.

  4. This is Part 2 of my RE:Vision Effects Twixtor tutorial, the most advanced Twixtor Pro tutorial on the internet. If you haven't already, it is recommended you check out part 1 first to understand the basics of Twixtor. vimeo.com/23151793

Featuring an example from 'Darrienia' vimeo.com/32156942 a short film by Danny Cooke and myself, We shall be exploring Twixtor Pro and how you can take advantage of open and closed masks to help calculate where the pixels should move frame to frame. Resulting in a far better interpolated image.

As always, before you start, for best results use a shutter speed that will match your final framerate to avoid blurry slow motion. Also, use the highest framerate setting on your camera possible e.g. 60p, 60i or if you are using a 5D Mark II use 30p; The more frames Twixtor gets to play with, the better!

    Hope you enjoy :)

  5. After much demand, I have released a tutorial explaining how I used RE:Vision Effects Twixtor to create the interpolated slow motion in the short film 'Incendium' by Danny Cooke and myself.

    vimeo.com/21919856

From the start, 'Twixtorizing' fire and water is an extremely hard thing to interpolate due to their unpredictability. However, I shall explain the main principles of Twixtor which you can apply to any video, and how to tidy up any unwanted warping.
