For Erez, freediving is about enjoyment, relaxation, and acceptance of all marine life. "It's a place where you can feel oneness with the ocean and with yourself."
After holding a world record in the 1990s, Erez wants to pass on his knowledge, experiences and passion for freediving. "It's not about holding your breath for as long as you can, it's what happens in the process. It's not necessarily going for a world record, it's about enjoying yourself while being in the water."
Ereze's teaching methods are based largely on pranayama yoga and relaxation techniques - which connect the breathing to the body.
"I'm truly amazed about how little people know about how they breathe ," Erez said, shielding the bright afternoon sun from his eyes. "It's the first thing we do when we're born, the last thing we do before we die, yet we never think about how we breathe" he said.
