"Chronicle" devoted a series of five programs to the vast open space that will be created once Boston’s mammoth downtown roadway project, "The Big Dig," is completed. By taking viewers to three of the world’s most beautiful cities, Paris, Barcelona and San Francisco, these enterprising programs draw on partnerships with the Boston Globe and MIT to consider what creative thinking and political leadership can accomplish in solving major urban problems. This is an excellent example of enterprising, local community service by a ground-breaking television program now in its 21st season.
