1. This film is a reflexive critique of anthropological documentary, attempting to highlight how it is more than possible to employ the deceptive techniques often used in cinema, while still potentially leaving the impression on the audience that 'reality' has been captured.

    A central concept is whether the pursuit of so-called 'authenticity' merely creates a medium that considers itself superior, whilst still being an expression of the desires of the filmmaker/editor and not necessarily those of the subject.
