when you meet someone whose work touches you deeply, and seems to be somewhat in a dialogue with your own work - you know you're in for something big. while in saint petersburg earlier this winter i've spent all my time with eugene petrushanskiy - fell in love with his photographs at first sight some time ago.
he asked me to put my own camera away, and stand in front of his instead. those pictures tell a beautiful story which is important to both of us, so we decided to share it, and publish something together.
this is the first part of 'love diaries' with eugene. he took the portraits, i photographed everything else.
Agatha A. Nitecka's (WH official photographer) take on Andrea Arnold's Wuthering Heights. In cinemas 11/11/2011.
This paper was created right in time for the general release of the movie - you'll get a copy of it if you go and get your ticket for a WH screening in Curzon Renoir, London.
Be quick! Only a few thousand copies were printed, they may run out very fast (the middle spread doubles as a poster as well).
+ there is an exhibition of the Wuthering Heights pictures at the same venue.
'À la recherche de la jouissance perdue (volume IX)' explores the nature of intimacy through landscape. Loosely based on Proust's 'À la recherche du temps perdu' and a psychoanalytic term 'jouissance'.
