On Friday, we went back to Blackwater. Then on Saturday, we shredded Ragged during the day, after, there was an event at Blackwater which we shredded. Sumarry: It was an awesome week! Coming back from a short break, the team was energized and ready to shredd! On Tuesday, because the jumps were not open, we spent the afternoon hiking the new rails at Ragged. Then on Wednesday, we headed over to Mt Snow for the Lakes Region Slope Style Comp hosted by Burr and Burton Academy. As a team, we did pretty well and finished in 2nd place! Then on Thursday and Friday, we spent the time taking laps in the park and getting used to the new jumps! On Saturday we all competed in the USASA Slope Style at Ragged. This was awesome for us because we got to see other skiers come to our home mountain and shredd it in different ways than we were already doing. New faces inspired us to do different things, which is awesome!
Summary: On Monday, we had to deal with a lot of freezing rain at Ragged. However, they got the jumps up, so that was awesome to practice on. On Tuesday, we headed up to Freestyle America to work on our trampoline skills. Our air sense carries over from the trampolines to the snow very well. So it was awesome training. Wednesday was the Lakes Region comp at Okemo. It was impressive how good the course was considering how much freezing rain we received on Monday and Tuesday. The Proctor team did very respectable finishing in second place overall! We will be on break until next Tuesday, but either way, this was a good week!
Summary: This was a truly amazing week! We used our Maxx Pass to go to Sunapee Monday and Tuesday so that we could train for our Lakes Region Freeski comp on Wednesday at Sunapee. We did amazing in the comp, everybody landed a run which was good enough to earn us a first place finish. THE FIRST TIME IN 8 YEARS!!! Then on Thursday we built the BlackWater park and then got to shredd it on Friday. On Saturday, we headed to Waterville for the USASA/AFP Silver Slopestyle event. The jumps were huge! Biggest jumps that we have seen all season, and it was a super cool to compete with and watch the best skiers in the east. Finally, we headed over to Cannon on Sunday for the Tell A Friend Tour! This was such a fun meet, we got to ski with a bunch of Pro skiers all sponsored by Line skis. They taught the team a lot. Next week will be fun!
