brand unit created and designed the new branding for Austrian percussionist Ingrid Oberkanins, inspired by the anarchic art movement DADA – you know the upside down urinal. The main idea was to look outside the box, go beyond the conventional. Ingrid Oberkanins also drummed her own business cards with two stamps. Graphics and fonts are arranged to the sound and pattern of her drumming. Speaking of outside the box. The branding uses specific colors to represent the artist’s main motivations. Red stands for her passion, white for the necessary precision and black for mystery. For the website, brand unit uses gifs of live drumming and technical aspects of sound and audio. But the centerpiece of the new website is a collection of videos showing Ingrid Oberkanins herself drumming on 10 different instruments.
