  2. A few shots of knocked out just after picking up the 4K video shooting Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I had just 15 minutes before all the light had gone. Not a lot of time but I wanted to see what the image looked like!

As you can see...it's not bad! BUT...what is the point of 4K video in a phone? Is there really a need for such a feature? What's the image like to work with? Is it more useful that the 120fps feature of the iPhone 5S?

For all my thoughts to these and loads more info check out my blog post here: wp.me/p3ggTR-7T7

  4. Quick test of the Kodak 2393 emulation LUT. Footage shot on the Epic using the Samyang / Rokinon 85mm T1.5 lens, mostly at 50 or 75fps. Download the LUT for free and read instructions on how to use it here: juanmelara.com.au/blog/print-film-emulation-luts-for-download

Using a film emulation LUT is a quick and accurate way to give your footage the film look. This is how the pros do it on feature films!

I've used this Kodak 2393 LUT on all the grades in my Vimeo videos. This time I've kept grading to a minimum so you can see the effects of the LUT.

Also included in the package are Fujifilm 3510, Fujifilm 3513 and Kodak 2383 LUTs.

  5. In this tutorial I show you my take on The Summer Blockbuster look - using the powerful 2 node subtractive colour setup.

Make sure you read the accompanying blog post as it goes into more detail than what's possible in the video - juanmelara.com.au/the-summer-blockbuster-colour-grading-tutorial/
I suggest trying out the techniques on the tutorial footage first, as it's easier to know when you're heading in the right direction. Download all the necessary footage/files from the link above.
