    Ideal Terrain

Our terrain is what really sets us apart from any other first time program in Tahoe. The perfect pitch and gentle and forgiving nature of our beginner slopes assist learning. Our Tahoe Learning Center terrain is also completely separate from the rest of the mountain, so there's no fear of interference or intimidation from more advanced skiers or boarders. We even have our own private run for Tahoe Learning Center customers!

The TLC Experience Pass* (13 years and up)

This pass is exclusive to the Tahoe Learning Center and gives first time skiers & boarders everything they need for an introductory season. TLC Experience Passholders receive free rentals and free lessons for the sport that they choose, discounted private lessons, free demos, discounts in retail and days at the Cross Country Center, over a $1000 in value! The TLC Experience Pass is also your ticket to ride, giving you season long access to the mountain (excluding our 'expert only ' chairs 6 & 10). *Guests must purchase a Burton Learn to Ride or Learn to Ski Package to qualify for The TLC Experience Pass.

Lesson Packs for Kids (3-12 years)

For those committed to their child’s improvement, 5 and 10 pack lessons are the best deal around. Lessons include a full day instruction, snacks and lunch, and rentals and a lift ticket if required. Lesson packs are non-transferrable and valid only during the season which pack is purchased until the Timber Creek area is closed.

  3. Ok my friends,
Super conservative out of the gate this AM with 5" to 6",
Update @ 11:38a - We're looking @ 6" to 8" at the base 12" to 15" at the top of Chair 6... Be careful out there, new snow lots of obstacles & fresh new snow... As we discussed yesterday, The perfect storm arrived yesterday. Was super mind bending withe the rising temps into the night for sure... Was seriously on the edge until just around 11:15p when the temps started dropping. Chair 11 is being cleared here in a moment frozen shiv's were the issue. As fro Chair 7, it still needs some work for sure. With the current snow fall I would assume maybe late afternoon or tomorrow AM.
All in all it's a good day! Thank you Mother Nature & Thank you all for coming out to the Wood today... How did we do? Hit me with it, I need to know... Can't get better unless I know what to look for.
    Stay'n Thirsty

  4. Buenos Dias my friends,
A perfect start to the storm is taking place here in the (209) I call it H.W.S (Heavy.Wet.Slop) it is the essential base building material we need to set it up for tonight's system. For those of ya'll that are not in the know, H.W.S is the snow that covers & fills it all in and creates a great bonding base. Currently it is still coming down heavy & wet here at 7800'.
Read the forecast below from the Tahoe Weather Discussion. We are looking good for a solid Saturday & Sunday of coverage. Look for Timber Creek to open mid-day tomorrow if not earlier. More terrain to open as we fill in the gaps and cross trials. More terrain to open as soon as we see it fill in.. Be careful, Look for obstacles, Ride with a friend tomorrow. It is like we are back in November early season....
    Tonight's system:
"High elevation snow showers should start to push in this morning and then the heavier precip arrives later this afternoon into the evening. Looking at the forecast models overnight the trend was for the snow levels to start a little higher up near 8000 ft. this afternoon before falling. They also showed them falling a little slower but the forecast for snowfall amounts still looks good. To recap, by Saturday night 8-15 inches at lake level, 15-25 inches above 7000 ft., and 25-35 inches up along the crest. Some spots along the crest could get over 3 feet.
Storm for Sunday night around 6 inches at lake levle, 12 inches above 7000 ft, and 18 inches along the crest. We'll look at that storm a little closer tonight. Models still completely disagree for next weekend with the Euro still showing a cold trough with snow and the GFS a ridge and dry. Stay tuned...BA"

  5. It’s so close but yet so far my friends,
Today was rough, needed extra stoke! Searching, wanting and waiting for POW! The thirst is building, the tension is high! Looking for those first flakes of glory! Now let’s be real here, we would be stoked to see saucer size flakes loaded with heavy water content for the 1st -36hrs on this system! Base building, rock stick’n glop! Then in the 2nd half (Sunday /Monday) 48hrs of power with mid-20’s that would be my dream line up…. As for now my eyes are glued to the radar, storm tracker & jet stream……
    Stay’n Thirsty,
