Luca Coleman, Rob and Maga McWhinnie spend an and epic month cruising around Peru, racing, exploring, partying, and generally shredding the gnar every where we went, this is the beginning of a 5 part series documenting the highs and lows of downhill skateboarding, from injured and destroyed to living the dream, interveiws with , Maga,Rob, luca, and heaps more including the Tarma IGSA race footage and free riding around lima all the way up to Mancora for the epic El Alto.
Watch the whole series: Peru Its all downhill from here.
yeah Luca rad edit, our road trip started short after the Tarma trip, i had a bung shoulder so luca got to shred and i got to film most of the time, we ate cevichie every day and tasted the local herb, a couple of chicks we met from tarma joined us and all round it was an amazing trip, Maga did so well to get down el alto, i mean its fucking gnarly and heaps of traffic but she bombed it from the top and managed to get some good speed at the bottom, the drain section you can see is in los organos, a rad little town interlaced with drains big and small.
quilmana just 2 hours south of lima was the first place i put my leathers on in over a year, later i brought luca here to get some speed and draft practice for tarma, the girls have been practicing heaps here too and theres more footage to come of them passing around the gopro and having fun. ep 2 kill mas gnar is DH at its best, fast, awesome and fun.
filmed in conjunction with chorro longboarding presents the most gnarly shit we have skated yet, casuarinas is a wealthy suburb of lima its a stark contrast to Pamplona slums on the other side of the hill, on the boarder is 3 of our favorite day to day skate spots, Los Alamos where the police and security rocked up but didnt care, Valle hermoso for a DH run and slide jam and the Water Tank Casuarinas for the craziest freeriding either Luca or i have ever done, Maga did some amazing camera work on this episode and drops her head down for some speed at valle hermoso near sunset, peace out and enjoy
final track Garota de Ipanema from Tom Jobim e Vinícius de Morais
