Carolyn and Reed Ogrosky have been trying for three years now to have a biological child. Though they already have a five-year-old son, Josh, they feel that their family is just "not complete yet", and dream of the day when they can have another child to love and cherish as well.
Over the past year they have been applying to be on an official waitlist for a newborn, an exciting prospect they are now weeks away from. Though it has been a long and taxing process, Carolyn still waits with hope and expectation for the day when they can bring a new baby into their house.
Living and working in Badin, North Carolina, David Summerlan has watched many people retire and lapse into sedentary lifestyles, giving up the life they had before. After retiring from Alcoa Aluminum Company in 1993, Summerlan refused to join their ranks, choosing instead to continue to live his life very actively. Up with the sun every morning, he spends his days running the Badin museum, which he created with the help of a few others, planning the annual Badin festival, playing golf, and ballroom and line dancing with his wife, Gloria.
Summerlan has no plans to stop “doing what he’s doing” anytime soon. As long as the Lord will allow him, he will continue to serve the town of Badin behind the scenes and live his life as he wants to live it, returning each day to the home that he loves on the outskirts of town.
