When one enters “The Scrubs” for the first time, the initial impression is that of a vast empty open space, covered with grass, mud and bushes, next to the prison that made the name famous. It seems to be a forgotten place in the middle of the big city, trapped somewhere in between urban rhythms, a birds’ sanctuary and a land of secret wildlife. But it is the people who come here, that give the park a special meaning.
