April 2011, Bella Vista AR. It all started with a stationary front located in eastern Oklahoma. After 3 days and nights of rain and thunderstorms, peaceful creeks and rivers turned into torrents of rushing water, destroying anything in it's path. I shot most of this footage as they closed the road behind me. The system then moved east spawning 173 deadly tornados in a 24 hour period, including one in Tuscaloosa that killed 41 and injured 600. The death toll in Alabama alone was 248. Ripping across the South all the way to the Atlantic coast, leaving a total of 340 fatalities in it's wake. The radar shot at the end tells all.
