Special needs require time and patience. As grandparents, we use our energy to care for Alex, our grandson. His demeanor is happy. He is very social, but can be overanxious to approach persons he likes, and can be overwhelming at times. Sometimes throwing a person off balance. He has Angelman Syndrome..as a doctor once put it "a syndrome of choice". It was described that way because Angelman persons are for the most part happy! He almost forces a laugh from you. It is contagious!

Documentation of Alex's life as it is. Alex has been diagnosed to have Angelman Syndrome. His life can mirror many families that may have other disabilities, but may bring on some of the same challenges. Alex is my grandson, and I hope to share these videos to enlighten some, present the reality of caregiving and most of all, to present Alex as a person with a life. The challenges of any disability when implemented present a new "normal".
