1. To see more of The Red Sorceress:

For more bodyart that's updated regularly:

Watch the creation of The Red Sorceress by Wolf, from conception, to photography, to it being washed off in the shower!

This was completed for SWR Landesschau, a German TV station doing a special on Wolf's Bodymagic, our bodypainting partner. Here he takes his passion for Sci Fi, Fantasy, TRON, Star Wars and Dynamic lines to a whole new level, creating his signature piece, a beautiful sorceress, using his signature colours; Red, white and black. Here, he is using the curves of the body to create a fluid yet structured piece.

Wolf strives to create pieces of Body art that are both a nod to the primitive starting points of Bodypainting, the oldest art form in the world, while being effortlessly modern in his approach. This is especially prevalent here with the retrofuturistic nature of this piece, the bold lines being in place both on a Sci Fi movie and on a tribal battleground.

My Bodypainting partner Wolf's Bodymagic (2nd Place Twice at The World Bodypainting Festival) worked for/and with German TV Station SWR on a beautiful Steampunk Bodypainting special seen here. (Video also used with EXPRESS permission from SWR). Combining the elements of a popular and well loved Sci Fi Genre with the beauty of bodypainting in a never before seen piece. The colours used were water based high quality bodypaint applied directly to naked skin. These wash off in the shower. Wolf's specialty is the robotic form and it's extremely well executed here with a high attention to detail.

It was a fun thing and the biggest entourage ever on the road for Wolf´s BodyMagic. One Painter (Wolf Reicherter), one Assistant, one Model (Naraku, one of the best LARPers in the world!), one MakeUp Artist (Nadine Klump), two Photografers (Arpad Ikuma and Ondro), one additional model (Andrea Heuser), two producers, a two man camera team and a janitor(!)

Wolf's Bodymagic also made the Steampunk Props, did the conceptualisation as well as the body paint here. The work is a hybrid UV and daylight piece, so at certain intervals you can see blue glowing LED style awesomeness in the centre of the paint. Incredible stuff!

UVatar, the UV Bodypainting Art Experience was created from an idea generated from a casual soundbyte by Wolf's Bodymagic (http://www.facebook.com/WolfsBodyMagic) . The idea germinated and quickly turned into an annual gathering hosted in the beautiful town of Groeningen in the Netherlands, in a beautiful old converted hospital covered with pieces of art and home to many artists. Here, people come together twice yearly to express themselves with colours, art, props and blacklight, cosmetics/makeup, wigs and bodypaint to transform themselves into beautiful alternate personas, bringing themselves to life as living and breathing art. Here, the canvasses sing, dance and perform to their hearts content.

Kryolan paints are usually used, along with blacklight/UV light, with loads of different props from Papier Mache, wire, foam, and many more materials. Some pieces resemblings frogs or wildlife, and sometimes something from completely out of this world! Some people have transformed themselves into matching pieces of art to form animals such as octopuses (which you can see at the end of the video).

The whole experience of being painted in blacklight is extremely meditative. Normal vision and depth perception do not apply and so the person can drift into a deep trance state as they are being transformed by the artists. The body paiting process can take 2-6 hours here, sometimes longer for an extremely creative piece.

Some work is emphasised further with hybrid mixes of different lights, mixing UV with halogen lights or even LED's to complete beautiful displays. Some people embody the paint and dance long into the night, with other people making props and accessories and even jewellery and trinkets that match their paint to make their temporary costume complete. Many dance styles are seen here, from hand dancing to tribal, to fusion and bellydance. Sometimes a whole lot more.

During the day here people are free to wander about and there are also aerial silks, yoga, meditation and other things which people are able to be involved with. There is also an "Intergalactic DJ booth" that looks like a UFO, where people can play or request tunes.

The food here is all organic and vegetarian, with minimal wastage, and is prepared every morning and evening. It's wholesome, nutritious and very addictive!

Many themes have been covered in UVatar, from "Outer Space and the cosmos" to "Inner beings" and many more. It's a real joy to behold and not to be missed.
My work is featured at 5:35, and works with Chromadepth 3D glasses.

Used with kind permission from UVatar Experience.
