Kinitiras Choreography Lab is an ongoing workshop for choreography and interdisciplinarity in contemporary dance, that's happening in Athens, Greece, from January to April 2011, under the mentoring and guidance of Prof. Ana Sanchez-Colberg along with a host of international artists. The main aim of the Lab is to open a much needed space for experienced artists to continue personal and professional development. The Lab also aims to providing available time, space and mentor support in order for artists to regain a space to question and experiment, to be able to establish dialogues with other artists, as well as become acquainted with current debates affecting dance practice today. It also emphasizes choreography and the creative process of generating new works that are grounded in contemporary dance genres. The Lab aims to nurture more rigorous and refined engagement with three aspects of creative production: concepts, practice and analysis which are seen as mutually interdependent forces that continually shape artistic experimentation and response.
In this video we have documented a workshop delivered by one of our visiting artists, John Paul Zaccarini, internationally renown interdisciplinary performer, dancer, choreographer, and Circus artist.
