1. We often face challenges and think "if only Jesus were here". The reality is that we are to be the ones to be His hands and feet in the world! John 14:12 reminds us that we will do greater works than Jesus did. So many Christians today pray small, weak prayers and churches limit them with small ideas about who God is and what He does. God is looking for people to redefine what is possible in the kingdom. God is with us (that's what Emmanuel, one of the names of Jesus, means), so we are called to do the same works as Jesus did. God's grace is sufficient for us. It is huge, overwhelming, and all-encompassing. Let's move forward and leave the poverty mentality behind! Ephesians 4:11-15 calls us to serve - as pastors, apostles, teachers, evangelists, and prophets. This is how Sandbox will serve in God's kingdom. Challenge yourself to think about where you are and whether you are doing what God has for you to do.

  5. in Acts 10 we find a powerful story about a man named Cornelius. An angel appears to him and says "Your prayers and gifts to the poor have been received by God as an offering." In Luke 21 we see another story where a women's gift catches the attention of Jesus. Does our giving catch Jesus' attention, does our prayer life move heaven to action? Allow this sermon to both challenge and inspire you to step beyond the normal.

What is “Never Just Exist“?

Although there is not a single person who doubts that their existence on this planet is limited, people by the millions are taking this amazing gift of life and scaling it down to a mere existence consisting of chores and responsibilities; People striving to arrive at the elusive point B from point A. Everyone knows the saying: “life’s a journey, not a destination”, but very few live like it is true. Too many people are just existing.

The mission of this site: Never Just Exist is taking a fresh look at our lives and taking practical steps to enjoy, explore and experience what really matters.

My brother and I had the privilege of having a mother who didn’t wait for special occasions to bring out the expensive dinner set, didn’t need “perfect weather” to let us experience something new and who valued taking a healthy risk for us to grow and learn.

This year I decided to live by a new motto: Never Just Exist. Everyone agrees time is passing so fast, but what are we doing to make today count? My father passed away at 54 years old, leaving hundreds of dreams unfulfilled and little impact on the world he lived in, a race horse who never escaped the gates.

I believe we were put on this earth for far more than to be a footprint in the sand that is easily blown away. It is my goal to lead as many as possible to Never Just Exist, leaving an impact on the world that our grandchildren can build from, and when our time has come, to utter the greatest epilogue: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Tim 4:7
