The Jones House was located at 241 Carver Avenue. Lillie "Aunt Lil"Jones encouraged the civil rights movement from her front porch rocking chair across the street from the COFO office. Here house was an ideal lookout post for cars coming down the street. She also spearheaded the memorial in front of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. She died in 1983 and is buried in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
