1. Our first youth health advocacy project - majority of the youth who worked in this project are newcomer youth living in Parkdale (aged 13 to 19).

    The video was shot and edited by Gelek Badheytsang.

    This video focuses on the highlights of the 6-month long project which ended in December 2010. The project involved over 150 youth and 200 community members through its activities involving petitions/campaign for more public spaces to be tobacco-free. The full day event on Dec 5, 2010 featured badminton/table tennis tournament and multicultural dance brought youth and community members together to support and advocate for Tobacco-Free Sports and Recreation.

    The Project is co-ordinated and managed by Kalsang Dolma, youth settlement worker/ESL teacher.

    The project was developed and led by youth members and volunteers of Parkdale Newcomer Youth Commitee (http://www.youthspark.weebly.com), a youth community leadership group under the Newcomer Youth Program of Parkdale Community Information Centre and Parkdale Intercultural Association.

  3. This documentary is produced by STOM project, a youth led smoke-free movies project.

    This project had 27 core team members. About 100 youth from Parkdale got involved in the project as participant and volunteer of its various activities and events.

    The project ran from January to June 2011 and was funded by Toronto Public Health.
