    For millions of skateboarders, skating isn't a hobby. It's a lifestyle on and off the board. It's no surprise, then, that over the past decade skateboarding has become a mainstay and an important ingredient in fashion.

    Inspired by the music, art, fashion, and sports that encompass skate, DC Life is organically designed and merchandised for life off the board.

    Introducing The Studio. For musicians, artists, bloggers, producers, and photographers, the studio is a unique extension of their personalities, and the creativity behind their work results from the time they spend there. While studios are each unique, they all inspire.

    The Studio (DC Shoes) reflects the belief that our world has become a studio space, with more and more people using the Internet and digital media to imagine and create on the go. As a tribute, the launch (April 7th, 2011) was represented by seven bloggers with Marcus Troy as curator enlisting six of his blogger friends to create a photo essay for a visual interpretation as each blogger interprets what The Studio means to them. The project was captured in a series of brief documentary-styled videos called "My Studio Session". The partnership with DC LiFE and Marcus was packaged into a micro website by "The Marcus Troy Experience".

    Offered in seven colors that represent the seven-point star in the iconic DC Logo, The Studio features Bounce Suede a material that keeps the shoe clean and fresh by letting water, dirt, grime, and spills bounce off without leaving a mark, and minimizing pesky instep creases.

    On the inside, The Studio is lined with a heather poly cotton blend that's soft enough to be worn with or without socks. A custom rubber vulcanized sole displaying the DC Pill Pattern™ along the top line of the sidewall tape framing out The Studio - a tonal application an interpretation of the common top line stitch detail substituted with the DC heritage branding. To complete the aesthetics each shoe comes with a leather lace to match the Bounce Suede and a second cotton lace to match the sole.
