A collaboration between PennDesign, Penn Engineering, and the Wharton School, the Integrated Product Design Master's programs merge the disciplines of design, engineering and business for the purpose of creating compelling new products and experiences. The program is designed to train students in technology, business, manufacturing, aesthetics and human-product interaction and provide them with a framework for bringing these disciplines together to create something new.   2. Heather Van Dusen is a Senior Associate at B Lab, the nonprofit that certifies and supports B Corporations and that facilitates the passage of benefit corporation legislation. Heather has been a part of the B Lab team since its launch in 2007, and has led B Lab’s initiative to help companies elect the newly available benefit corporation status. Born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs, she has worked with local environmental and community advocacy groups such as PennEnvironment and CeaseFirePa. Ms. Van Dusen graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in religion from Amherst College, and currently resides in Philadelphia.

  3. Bill Moggridge, Director of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and founder of IDEO, gave the Spring 2012 Integrated Product Design Lecture sponsored by Lisa Roberts and David Seltzer. Moggridge, credited with designing the first laptop computer, describes his career as having three phases, first as a designer, second as a leader of design teams and third as a communicator. Since 2000, he has been a spokesperson for the value of design in everyday life, writing books, producing videos, giving presentations and teaching.

    Moggridge was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at Cooper-Hewitt's National Design Awards at the White House in 2009 and the Prince Philip Designers Prize in 2010.

  4. The Cloak is a device that emits a wearable cloud. It emits a cover that negates the objectifying gaze of the observer. In a pervasive urban environment, the occupant may obscure their gender, their race, their identity.
    The device also allows the subject to choose a moment of respite and willful separation from the city as the cloud creates a singular space of occupancy.
