Over 100 fans were invited to shoot the official music video for the Noisettes new single Saturday Night, using only Nokia mobile devices.
Under the watchful eye of a leading music promo director, Kim Gehrig, the fans filmed the Noisettes playing in a disused swimming pool in East London capturing all the energy and excitement of an exceptional Saturday Night out.The fans were both the cast and crew.
The film is part of an online campaign by VCCP to support the O2 sponsored initiative “Scrum on the Beach”, designed to promote rugby to a wider UK audience.
Shot in a day on West Wittering beach, using 4 separate camera’s the film involved as many members of the public as possible who happened to be around on the beach that day, to reflect the public involvement expected at the “Scrum on the Beach” events.
The 5 England professionals involved were scrum-half Danny Care, full-back Delon Armitage, flanker Lewis Moody and wings Paul Sackey and Ben Foden.
Although only available for an hour and a half of filming after their morning training session nearby, they all threw themselves whole-heartedly into the shoot, autographing shirts, balls, callsheets and anything else the kids could get their hands on.
