1. Rei lives in the Atlantic Coast Forest in Bahia, Brazil. Not very long ago, his community was almost entirely isolated from the modern world. He and his family lived in perfect harmony with the jungle eating fresh fish and an abundance of fruits and vegetables that seem to just grow everywhere. To get to the nearest village still requires a 40 km trek by canoe. Now that neighboring village has a highway that runs nearby and Rei's community is set to get electricity for the first time. Over the next year or so, we hope to see how these modern conveniences change the way of life for Rei and the community.

The Brazil Project is a platform for documentaries related to the subject of Brazil. In addition to showcasing great documentaries that have already been made, the platform opens itself up to a crowd sourcing project with the goal of creating many different mini-documentaries on people, sounds and places that transmit the essence of Brazil. The diverse subjects will be released on this site as regular videos and if selected, will become part of the feature length documentary about Brazil.
