Some people are talking about low volume. I can easily hear the input. NOTE that im using the earplug... the one with a membrane, that are put tight into the ears.
I have found a solution (last minute workaround) that works for me (i will not guarantee that it works for you!)... and cost only about 37$.
And remember! This is NOT a "end-of-chain" output you will hear. Its a quick and dirty non-hifi solution... But you will be able to monitor the sound comming from the microphone.

Filmed in AVCHD 60p, I used "iVl" from Apple APP store to convert to desktop.
Then import to iMovie 11.
I think this is a good example of the Zoom and auto focus of this great little pocket camera.
This was filmed on a unusual sunny day in Wales ! so the viewfinder was almost unusable. A viewfinder hood would be nice. and a good tripod is on my shopping list.
I may stick to 1080p MP4 on my next try , as converting takes some time.
But I am over the moon with this camera , and would recommend it as a great item to have in one's pocket.

I just received my JuicedLink DS214 2 Channel minijack input low-noise preamp with headphone amp, meter and AGC disable.
I wanted to try it on my GH2, since there really wasn't any way to monitor the audio except using the meters on the camera display visually.
The unit is very well constructed out of aluminum so it's sturdy yet lightweight.
I tested it with my Rode Video Mic (original one...). So the basic setup was the Rode going into the JuicedLink unit via the 3.5mm stereo minijack. Then the JuicedLink unit is feeding into the GH2 via the Mic level out.
As per JuicedLink instructions, the GH2 is set to level 1, which is the lowest setting available. Gain on the JuicedLink is set to Low (Low and High are available). Then the left and right levels are set using the pots on the JuicedLink unit. You are able to monitor using headphones and there is a headphone levels pot also.
I want to note that AGC is NOT enabled on this video and I don't see any reason to do so. This way you are getting both channels of audio rather than just one (if you were to use the AGC disable). This precludes you from having to remove a channel in post and duplicate the clean channel.
It works really nicely and it's great to be able to monitor with headphones. I really didn't want to have to do dual audio unless it was absolutely necessary and this seems to be a great solution.
If I need to use more than one microphone, I can add the Zoom H4n into the loop and take advantage of the XLR inputs and phantom power that it provides as well. Then I can also record dual audio just to be on the safe side.
This sequence was shot entirely with 10.000 ASA sensitivity on a hacked GH2 with 42 Mbps in AVCHD. Originaly 1920x1080 for vimeo scaled down to 720. No extra lights were used at all. All lighting is practical, i.e. street lights and the lanterns from the children and the light emitting from the houses. It was amazing how well the GH2 performed under those circumstances. I know there was some demand for high asa footage in color, so here it is. I used the film mode 'Vibrant' to get the most from the toned down color reproduction in low light situations. There is some noise but i used a mild setting from the excellent plugin from Neat video to reduce noise somewhat. I think this setting opens up possibilities for documentary shooting at night.
Lens: Voigtländer 25mm/F0.95, which I used almost the whole time fully open. Focusing was a hell (used no additional monitor or ff) as you can see in the sequence :-)
