The new visual identity of the MIT Media Lab is inspired by the community it comprises: Highly creative people from all kinds of backgrounds come together, inspire each other and collaboratively develop a vision of the future.
This unique offering of the MIT Media Lab is reflected in the logo design. Each of the three shapes stands for one individual's contribution, the resulting shape represents the outcome of this process: A constant redefinition of what media and technology means today.
The logo is based on a visual system, an algorithm that produces a unique logo for each person, for faculty, staff and students. Each person can claim and own an individual shape and can use it on their business card a personal website. The design encompasses all collateral, business cards, letterhead, website, animations, signage etc. A custom web interface was developed to allow each person at the Media Lab to choose and claim an own individual logo for his/her business card, as well as a custom animation software which allows to create custom animations for any video content the lab produces.

This 60-second video produced by JESS3 showcases Mozilla’s latest browser launch, Firefox 4. The video highlights the new browser and its features, including a fresh user-interface, more customization and personalization features, and a faster browsing experience than ever before.
Using advanced digital-animation techniques, the video simulates a papercraft production. Vibrant visuals, coupled with the lively original soundtrack and personable voice over, educate viewers about the non-profit’s latest launch.
In this engaging two-minute animation, JESS3 walks the viewer from the very first audio oscillator, HP’s 200a, to present time technology with Agilent’s newest and most popular function generator, the 33550 series.
The fifth video in our the "State of" series, The Evolution of Radio Waves is our second video release of 2011.
Since 2001, OFFF festival has been held in Barcelona, becoming the globally recognized and trendsetting event it is today. The three-day festival showcases top digital artists, web, print and interactive designers, motion graphics studios, and new music adventurous. OFFF festival provides insight into all culture media platforms.
Each year, they are asking one of the keynote speaker to create a video that present the major partners of the event. I had the honnor to make it for this issue of OFFF, and we had an amazing fun creating these different stories for each of the sponsors.
Thanks to all the collaborators that contributed to make this film happen.
