Norwood Ringers, Concert Choir, Men's Choir, Women's Choir, String Orchestra, String Chamber Ensemble, and Wind and Percussion Ensemble put on a magnificent spring concert filled with a wonderful variety of music, a marching band, and Norwood's own pom squad. We particularly enjoyed celebrating our yellow rose of Texas, Mrs. Susie Rosenbaum, during her last 7/8 concert as Middle School Principal.
Bravo to our second graders for their wonderful performance of "Children in Japan," which featured folk songs, stories, dances, and informational tid bits gleaned from the students' cross-curricular study of Japanese culture.
As part of their unit on the civilization of Ancient Greece, Norwood fifth graders performed "The Tales of Greek Mythology," bringing the vibrant world of Greek mythology to life. From Zeus and Apollo to Echo and Narcissus, fifth graders provided great entertainment and fascinating explanations of the unexplainable!
At this year's Honoring Religious Freedom program, fourth, fifth, and sixth graders shared readings from different cultures and religions, and a selection of beautiful songs. Special thanks to Mr. Palki and Mrs. Leyva for directing this lovely and thoughtful program, and, of course, to all of the students who participated.
