Stop-iT is an interactive installation to compose music with post-it notes. Each color is an instrument.
Its vertical position defines the pitch of the note.
The surface is analyzed in real time. The generated melody is played in loop, repeatedly.
The projected animations are synchronized with music. They are linked to the sticked post-it notes as well. With a simple button, users can record their live session.
The recording is then automatically uploaded to a website (stopit-installation.com) where they can find it back, download it as an mp3, or share it.
Created with openFrameworks, the software outputs MIDI signals. This way, it can communicate with external softwares and devices.
