Today in the United States, by the simple act of feeding ourselves, we unwittingly participate in the largest experiment ever conducted on human beings. Massive agro-chemical companies like Monsanto (Agent Orange) and Dow (Napalm) are feeding us genetically-modified food, GMO’s, that have never been fully tested and aren't labeled. This small handful of corporations are tightening their grip on the world’s food supply—buying, modifying, and patenting seeds to ensure total control over everything we eat.
The GMO Film Project (Untitled) tells the story of a father’s discovery of GMO’s through the symbolic act of poor Haitian farmers burning seeds in defiance of Monsanto’s gift of 475 tons of hybrid corn and vegetable seeds to Haiti shortly after the devastating earthquake. After a journey to Haiti to learn why hungry farmers would burn seeds, the real awakening of what has happened to our food, what we are feeding our families, and what is at stake for the global food supply unfolds in a trip across the United States in search of answers.
Are we at a tipping point? Is it time to take back our food? The encroaching darkness of unknown health and environmental risks, seed take over, chemical toxins, and food monopoly meets with the light of a growing resistance of organic farmers, concerned citizens, and a burgeoning movement to take back what we have lost.
We still have time to heal the planet, feed the world, and live sustainably. But we have to start now.

Kickstarter Campaign: http://goo.gl/jwQ1A
Our filming is finally under way! For the next few months we’ll be hard at work, and Jeremy will be traveling the country with a small crew. What we're hoping for from Kickstarter is help towards the summer production costs and maybe more!
Making a feature-length film is a very expensive and challenging process – particularly getting it off the ground.
OUR (CURRENTLY UNTITLED) GMO FILM PROJECT tells the story of a father’s discovery of GMOs through the symbolic act of poor Haitian farmers burning seeds in defiance of Monsanto’s gift of 475 tons of hybrid corn and vegetable seeds to Haiti shortly after the devastating earthquake. After a journey to Haiti to learn why hungry farmers would burn seeds, the real awakening of what has happened to our food in the US, what we are feeding our families, and what is at stake for the global food supply unfolds in a trip across the United States and other countries in search of answers.
Today in the United States, by the simple act of feeding ourselves, we unwittingly participate in the largest experiment ever conducted on human beings. Massive agro-chemical companies like Monsanto (Agent Orange) and Dow (Napalm) are feeding us genetically-modified food, GMOs, that have never been fully tested and aren't labeled. This small handful of corporations is tightening their grip on the world’s food supply—buying, modifying, and patenting seeds to ensure total control over everything we eat.
The goal of this film is to awaken people to what is happening with our food and inspire change. First, by exposing the experiment and that the only way to abstain from the experiment is to choose not to eat GMOs, but for that to happen, GMOs must be labeled. Second, by showing that organic and sustainable farming can and should feed the world. We can save Organics, but we must wake up to what is happening before it is too late.
We still have time to heal the planet, feed the world, and live sustainably. But we have to start now.
This film is an independent production. Every dollar we raise right now will go towards:
- First and foremost, our summer production costs! We have travel expenses for Jeremy and crew, equipment costs and rentals. Jeremy has already left and will be filming during this Kickstarter Campaign, but he can only charge so much on credit cards! We need funding to keep the project moving forward and pay the crew, who will be joining him mid-July
- Second, if we are able to raise more than what we are asking, it will enable us to begin another step in the process… graphics, animation, music, and stop-motion. We have some amazing plans for these elements to better tell the whole story of what we are facing with GMOs. We also have people lined up, but no money to pay them to begin their work (yet!).
- Third, we need to spread the message about the film. This is important, and will take all of you as well. However, we also need to begin work on the campaign aspect, which can coincide with the film, and this means money for an interactive website to educate, connect, and mobilize.
We've got some great rewards! To begin, we have included SIGNED copies of our film DIVE!, Living Off America's Waste (Winner of 21 awards at Film Festivals), which is being released on DVD this month. Some friends of our new GMO Film have also graciously donated amazing rewards for us to offer. Laurie David, Producer of An Inconvenient Truth, and author of The Family Dinner, has given our Kickstarter campaign several Curb Your Enthusiasm books signed by Larry David, Seinfeld Season DVD’s, and a Seinfeld Production Script signed by the entire cast and actually used by Larry in producing an episode. Robyn O'Brien, author of The Unhealthy Truth, speaker, activist and rockstar mom, has given us copies of her acclaimed book about GMOs and their connection to childhood allergies and so much more. Some of these are limited, so please choose one of these rewards before they are gone!
HELP US PICK A TITLE!
That’s right, we are asking for your help in coming up with a title for our film. We had a working title, which may still be an option. Nevertheless, this film does not currently have a title. So, please send us your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please put “Title Idea” in the subject line. If we pick your title, we will come up with a creative prize. Such as tickets to a screening of the film in your area, or dinner with us, if you are in town, etc… Don’t worry, we will come up with something if we love and choose your idea for the title of this film!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where can I learn more about the project?
Please visit our official website, http://www.GMOfilm.com. There you can find a full synopsis of the story, filmmaker bios, our blog, and photos! We will constantly add media and updates to the site, and by making a contribution, you will gain access to exclusive video footage and behind-the-scenes updates hosted there.
Is my pledge amount publicly displayed?
No. Only you and the project creator will be able to see your pledge amount.
If I donate, when can I redeem my reward?
All perks, big and small, will only happen if our goal is met. If we do meet our goal, immediately after our deadline we will contact you to start the process. The screenings, parties and dvds etc. can only happen after the film is completed, so this will take a bit of time. Bear with us!
What if I don’t want the reward, I just want to support?
No problem, there is a button that you can select if you don’t want the reward.
Can we exceed the goal?
YES! This would truly be amazing. Kickstarter will allow as much money as is given before the deadline. This is only the beginning of our journey with this film; exceeding our goal would allow us to make a better movie and increase our chances of beginning production without delay. Exceeding our goal would be a dream come true!
Can I increase my pledge once it’s been made?
YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new reward.
Can I give my reward to someone else as a gift?
What happens if the money isn’t raised in time?
If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, your card isn’t charged, and no movie is made. We want to avoid this scenario at all costs!
Who does the money go to?
Every penny (minus the fees for Kickstarter & Amazon’s involvement) will go directly to our GMO Film Project budget--your money goes directly to the funding of this film!
I'm not in the US. Can I still pledge to projects?
Yes. You can pledge from anywhere.
How do we contact you?
