In 1965, Robert and June Frost opened Frosty's Donuts in Brunswick, Maine. For over forty years, Bob got up at 3:00am to make the donuts and June welcomed and served their customers an hour later. They would make several batches - honey dipped, sugar cake, chocolate iced, cream and fruit filled, and their famous glazed twist - which would always sell out before 9:00am.
When they weren't feeding the community, Bob sang at various local churches and June played her accordion alongside. She also loved her toy poodles.
June Frost died at the age of 76 on July 11, 2011. Bob Frost closed the doors of their popular donut shop a couple months later.
I shot and edited this little video back in 2003 while documenting my home town.
