“The inspiration for Emilia’s Gift is my late grandmother, Emilia. She was the most giving person I have ever known. Despite the struggles she encountered throughout her life, she was rarely seen without a smile on her face.
Her example of generosity was her gift to all us that had the pleasure of knowing her. Emilia’s Gift is a tribute to this generosity and my small way of keeping her loving spirit alive.” - Jazmine Sangalang, founder & creator of Emilia’s Gift
Jazmine Sangalang is a Filipino-Canadian hoping to make a small difference with the help of family and friends. The idea for this project came about when she was reminded of her grandmother’s generosity. It all started when she came across some unused books and school supplies in her basement, and she began to pack them up for students in the Phillipines.
Jazmine is a firm believer that small steps can make a big difference and she is always looking for ways to better her community.
Although the main purpose of this initiative is to give a helping hand to children in impoverished areas of the Philippines, she also hopes to inspire and encourage a better appreciation of the ability to give that we are so very blessed to be privileged with.
