1. This project was created with the same spirit that america was founded on. Our intentions are to connect everyone in america through the lens of this camera and social networking sites. We can't do this without you. We want to tell your story and show your city or town through photographs of you, and people you know. As we travel around america looking for people and places to shoot you will be able to keep track of where we are going and help us decide where we go next. Join us in our journey by liking our facebook to get yourself photographed by us.

An extra special thanks to Brandon Rein, Scotty Hoffman and Trevor Atwater.

    UPDATE 2011/06/19
Have replaced the hose clamp for a fixed metal ring that slides in over the lens when zoomed in, then matches focus ring perfectly when pushed toward it. A big time saver! Check it out on my website!

  3. The footage from the factory is from the oldest motor plant in the world. It was founded in 1864 by Eugen Langen and August Otto. Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach worked here from 1876 in a management position. Here is the origin of the motorized world. Now the building should be demolished to create space for a new cable factory...

The video sequences are taken with a canon 5D MK II which I have borrowed for two days ,.... too short to become familiar with this amazing camera.

    Photo sequences (Nikon D90): 00:37 ; 00:52 ; 01:07 ; 01:14 ; 01:32

Video sequences (Canon 5D MKII): Rest

Unfortunately the video jiggles a bit on vimeo...

  5. In the most scientific camera comparison to date, "The Great Camera Shootout 2011: a documentary of the Single Chip Camera Evaluation (SCCE)" premieres with Episode 1: ''The Tipping Point." The first episode of the 3-part web series examines three SCCE Tests: The Dynamic Range Test, The Under Exposure Test and The Over Exposure Test.

Robert Primes, ASC, designed and administered the full series of tests. "That's right," says Web Series Director Steve Weiss,"We didn't want people to think that these tests were biased in any way. So Bob created the SCCE as an independent organization to conduct the testing." Additionally, Bob Primes designed the tests with his own technicians and selected the cameras to be tested.
