February 5th, 2012 was “Justice and Mercy Sunday” at Whittier Hills Baptist Church (WHBC). This was a time where the sermon as well as other special elements highlighted God’s heart for the poor, needy, and marginalized. This time also showed how WHBC is engaged in activities of justice and mercy both locally and around the world. The overseers of Whittier Hills found it important to deal with this very current and pressing issue through writing a position paper to explain what the Scriptures teach us on this topic as well as give some suggestions as to how individuals and the local church should move forward in engaging those who are hurting and broken. The position paper is available at http://www.whittierhills.org/#/resources/position-papers. The following video was shown to several hundred people at both the Uptown and Russell Campuses.
