This video demonstrates the versatility of my ImageXpression tone-line conversion process. Most projects are rendered from still images, though occasional video subjects are taken on. Video has to be rendered one frame at a time, so the process is time consuming. The ImageXpression process is the result of a custom-designed software system that originated with a personal fascination (and frustration) with the old litho-based posterization process. But unlike its ungainly forerunner, the ImageXpression process is highly controllable, color managed, and very versatile. Since each image is converted from continuous tone to line art, extreme enlargements are always possible. The interpretations range from mild to wild, and depend totally on the subject and the art director's request. Obvious commercial applications include sports, wraps, and large format printing.
