The first video update for my awesome Kickstarter backers! Highlights include my oblivious use of the phrase "therapeutic gene therapy" (hooray redundancy!) and my inability to refer to the character Ohan as "they."

Plus a little bit of Kizzy, too! And for the sake of reference: Harmagian, Aeluon, Quelin, Aandrisk. I'll talk more about humans next week.

Disclaimer: My visual approximations of how word count corresponds to book thickness are totally lazy and wrong. Here's a much better explanation. http://commonplacebook.com/culture/literature/books/word-count-for-famous-novels/
Also, the software I mentioned: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener.php
Edit: So, apparently my mouth and my words are a little out of sync. This wasn't happening when I actually made the video, so I'm going to have to do some investigating. Bear with me, I'll get it sorted. :)

If you'd like more brainfood on building off of existing creative works, I highly recommend the short web series "Everything Is A Remix." Good stuff about copyright in there, too, which is another big interest of mine. http://www.everythingisaremix.info/watch-the-series/
PS, I was totally wrong about the lightbulb (though there were many incandescent bulbs that came before before Edison's). The telephone, however, is a good (though controversial) example of simultaneous inventions.
