GUST Project

In Cambodia, deforestation is a real problem because most of the population rely either on wood or wood charcoal to cook, so many trees are illegally cut in order to provide enough combustible.

SGFE is a social business which employs former waste pickers to make green charcoal from coconut shells and other organic residues. This way, the charcoal created is more efficient and does not require to cut trees. With their method, SGFE is able to produce efficient charcoal and fight deforestation at the same time.
