  2. In a neoclassical style coupled with a modern spirit that can be found through the narrative, Anastylose is a ballet lead by the prestigious dancer and talented chorographer, Julien Lestel.

Anastylose blends a subtle dialogue between the dance and the music interpreted by three magnificent soloist dancers (Cinthia Labaronne, Julien Lestel et Gilles Porte) with the famous pianist François-Réne Duchable.

By definition, anastylosis is an archaeological term for a reconstruction technique whereby a ruined building or monument is restored using the original architectural elements to the greatest degree possible; the missing parts are backfilled with new components. The Anastylosis is the counterpart of resilience in psychology.

Similarly, the three Anastylosis dancers and the pianist get together to rebuild what has been destroyed in the past. By adjusting and refining different movements and expressions with its academic roots, the dancers create a magnificent and a delicate choreography, a way to accept and cure their scars with a common objective, avoid loneliness. Each of us has hidden deeply in our souls a sour moment of our existence.

Anastylose delivers a message of hope where the artists will perform a deep dive into their souls to avoid becoming victims of their personal circumstances. In a complete harmony with shameless movements but with a wonderful elegance, the carnal chorography is explosive, fluid and powerful, physical and emotional, lively and spiritual. The dancers offer all the beauty inspired by the art with sincerity and passion.

While the lights provide different contrasts to the geometric shapes where the bodies became the scenography’s elements, the music played belong to great musicians like: Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Moussorgski, Mozart, Schubert et Scriabine. In essence, Anastylosis takes us to a universe of dreams sometimes very factual and others very emotional, accessible to novice or sophisticated aesthetes.
